The summer sailing season is finally in view! And to get into the spirit, the Spring Fling will be held Saturday at Pine Orchard Yacht Club from 6–9:30 p.m. (Remember to bring cash for the bar, as credit cards are not accepted.) Hope to see you all there.
Several new members and families have been posted and more may be welcomed into the club as the season progresses. Watch your mailbox for information about club events and programs as we begin the signup period.
As always, our Fleet Captain is recruiting volunteers for race committee throughout the summer. No experience is necessary, though people with boating and race management experience are of course highly valued as well. Please fill out the RC Volunteer form and provide a vital service to the club.
Opening Day is June 20, but before that watch your email for Spring Work Day, when we open the club and prepare for the season.
Finally, Essex Yacht Club has extended reciprocal privileges to SHYC members who plan to venture up the Connecticut River. Those of you who have participated in the Wetherill or Essex Rum Challenge regattas know it’s a charming venue with great food and sweeping views of the river. Call 860-767-8121 in advance for reservations, moorings or dock slips.
